Bloodgush is another upcoming brutal death metal band from Indonesia. This promo features two tracks with a distinct difference between both the tracks. My guess is that Born Against God is one of the newer tracks, with a much clearer production and a thrashy feel that nicely complements the brutal slam death metal origins of the band, the latter which is evident on the second song, Killing For The Easiness. Quite an international split we have here. 'Grindcore Bullshit' was released last February through a Malaysian label called "Deathmutt records". It contains previously released demo or promo tracks from the 4 bands. I didnt really know what to expect from a band called Tsubo, but the carnage they unleashed was a mighty pleasant surprise. A thick meaty death-grind machine they are. RxVx69 were much rawer and ATXXX were loud, fast and fielding quite a noisy guitar tone. Discolony continued the grind assault with some cool old school grindcore.

HIDEOUS DIVINITY is the new band of former guitarist and founding member of HOUR OF PENANCE (Enrico, all guitars, bass and music). This is their first and only release, a 2-track demo recorded in the infamous 16th Cellar Studios by Stefano Saul Morabito. The session line-up is completed by Mauro (drums, HOUR OF PENANCE) and Synder (vocals, EYECONOCLAST).
Enrico has since moved back to Italy from Norway and rejoined HOUR OF PENANCE as rhythm guitarist, though there has been no announcement if or how this will affect the activity of HIDEOUS DIVINITY.

Catchy as hell goregrind from this project involving members of Vaginal Scrotum, Soldered Poon and Abosranie Bogom. The EP was mastered by Alex 'Clesh' (Painful Defloration) and that probably explains its thick meaty sound. One listen to this and you'll definitely be smiling and nodding along to the grooves. And you'll never be able to listen to the band Satyricon with a straight face again.

This is the second demo of Triquinosis, a death metal band from Chile. Just like with the Plasmoptysis demo posted below, I was impressed with the recording. Not only the recording, the music is good too - fast palm muted riffs with the occasional mosh sections, and played pretty tight. Reminded me of Kabak quite a few times. Definitely worth checking these guys out.

From their Bio:
"Early 2007 Martin V and Renke had ideas to set up a brutaldeath metal band. We, both playing guitar, went searching for a suitable singer, and so Jeroen showed up to spit up some guttural growls. After drinking some beer also the name was born: Fumes of decay. We went off working and soon 2 songs were finished, but after a short time, Martin left us.
After this Jeroen and Renke decided to go on with the both of us, so we kept on working on new stuff. We removed the two first songs,because of the lack of brutality. Soon the first song was ready, but we also needed a drummer. After a while Martin K showed up and wanted to help us to get us rolling. We were very fanatic, but we almostcouln't rehearse because of Martin living too far away. We struggled like this for half a year and the motivation was fading.In one of our first rehearsals, Henk (also a drummer) was watching and liked it very much, but thought he could never drum like Martin did.however, a few weeks later, Martin told us he was lacking in time, so we asked Henk to try it. Henk's creativity and speed was fitting suprisingly well and after just 1 rehearsal we we had no doubt about it: Fumes of decay had come to life."

Metal Invader's comments:
This demo has on offer lots of fast palm muted riffs with pinch harmonic squeals blending in with guttural vocals. Musically they sound like a hybrid of Lividity and Disgorge (US), maintaining the groove of the former while taking inspiration from the latter, especially in the vocal department. The dynamics within each song are great, mosh sections fit in perfectly between fast bottom string pulverizing passages. The guitars sound heavy but at the expense of the drums which are a bit buried in the background. If only this was recorded with a slightly better production this would have sounded devastating but as of now its still definitely worth checking out!

A New Chapter

After 3 years of existence and more than 1.6 million hits, we have reached a stage where there are around 3000 daily hits on the site from all corners of the world. This has validated our belief that death metal is still very relevant to those who are truly into this music, and we like to believe that we have been able to contribute in some way by helping people discover new bands and great albums (the poll results say so!).

But now we feel it's time to contribute even more actively and responsibly. From now on, our efforts shall be focused on helping you discover new and small bands whom you might not be aware of, and also encourage the actual purchasing of CDs of the bands you love.

What this means is, DMI shall now only feature demo/promo/album material either directly received from bands, or material which is already available on the band's site. We shall soon start reviewing albums, and provide links to where the albums can be purchased from. This might not make some of our visitors very pleased, but we hope that the majority of you will understand and continue to support us, and more importantly, support the musicians who really need and deserve it.
