our music, we want you to feel a chilling tremor down your spine and a

surely illicit feelings of shivering in a mental institution, where

"Fabricant are erecting an industrial complex, with the presses and
turbines powered by the steam of boiling blood and each gear and cog

Discovering the Underground - André Neil (Laconist)

Today we asked Neil, guitarist and vocalist of brazilian beast Laconist. Their last release "Aural Deathblow" was one of the most furious and intense death metal albums in 2011! Bring it on:

1. Please name a few underground/unknown bands which have impressed you lately (and a short line or two about each band would be good).

I have been listening a lot to Spearhead (UK) "Theomachia" is sick, i love the vocals and the instrumental blend perfectly with it. Just brutal and recalls me a little to Angelcorpse, but in a higher level. Another band i've been addicted to lately is Maveth from Finland. Christbutcher (guitars and vocals) was in Dethroned and Excomnunion in the United States. He moved to Europe and joined another guys. I consider Maveth like a darker and heavier Incantation. They can definitely express Absolute Darkness with their music! All Hails.

2. Name a few new albums which you think everyone should check out (and a short line or two about what's good about the album).

For the rest of my life, if anyone asks for an album they should check out i will always tell these ones first:

1 - Centurian "Choronzonic Chaos Gods" I haven't heard another album that brings so much hatred, chaos and destruction like this one. Seth Van De Loo's voice is simply magnificent. Tracks like "Damned and Dead", "Blood for Satan" and "Hail Caligula!!!" defines the CD. This album changed my life.
2 - Nox - "Ixaxaar" I consider this album, the official Centurian's third record LOL. Because i have expected that for so long after the band split on 2002. And they did not let us down, this is the true Masterpiece of Chaos! SIC LUCEAT NOX!!! Seth was singing again, it was just perfect.
3 - Lost Soul - "Immerse in Infinity" When i first knew Lost Soul was back and they were ready to release a new album, i thought they could never do something better than "Chaostream" i was DAMN wrong LOL. The first time i listened to the full album i was like "What the fuck is that??" Fucking amazing work and EVERY Death Metal Fan should have it.
4 - Dissenter - "Furor Arma Ministrat" Poland shelters the best Death Metal bands in this world in my opinion. Dissenter's "Furor Arma Ministrat" is one of the most brutal works i have ever listened too. Tracks like "Admired Masterpiece" and "Suffering sent into Mercy" just calls it. I can't wait for new stuff.
5 - Trauma - "Determination" Well, another polish band LOL. This album is something beyond human understanding. It is complex, it is brutal, perfect production and amazing compositions. I usually recommend this to Deathheads looking for new stuff.

3. Some old albums which u have been listening to lately (and a short line or two about what's good about the album)?

Fuck Yeah! Oldstuff :D - Today i listened to "Transcend the Rubincon" from Benediction. It was the first Death Metal CD i have ever bought. That same day i got "Symbolic" from Death and "Butchered at Birth" from Cannibal Corpse. I was 13 years and those albuns drove me completely insane LOL. I also was listening to Brutality a few days ago, this band will never get old and it is one of my favorites.

4. Any other message for DMI readers? What is your opinion about DMI?

Death Metal Invasion has been my favorite blog for years. It was the first place i put my band's very first release 4 years ago. And keep bringing the best stuff!! All Hails!

Avoidant - Eye-solated Breed

Demo, Self-released
2011

1. A Catalyst for Destruction
2. Catatonic Force, The Disconnection Phase

Origin: Lima, Peru
Genre: Technical Death Metal
Website: www.myspace.com/avoidantofficial

"Unleashing a relentless fusion of Technical death metal, modern metal, with the precision guitar attack of progressive metal/shoegaze, Avoidant was formed in Lima, Peru in the winter of 2010 after the idea and projection from the musicians Daniel Ramón Ibárcena Mollyk and Giancarlo Melgar Novoa whom met each other through a social network and also because of the genre relation between each one’s parallel bands. After having made contact through the social network, they decided to get together and begin to develop the Death Metal project.
After exchanging ideas and meet each other, they decided that the musician Daniel Yowad Ibárcena Mollyk from his brother’s same parallel band (Daniel Ramón Ibárcena Mollyk) join the “Avoidant” project.
After some weeks of composition and having made two songs, the band’s genre was defined and they began to look for a second guitar player, an idea that was discarded because of the lack of people, so they maintained the idea of remaining with just one guitar player. Afterwards, they contacted Ichthyosis’ bass player, John Coronado, also known by the Ibárcena brothers.
Through constant interaction between the Ibárcena brothers and Giancarlo Melgar, the songs that will appear in their first EP “Morphology” were finished."

"We've all been into different genres of metal over the years, played in hardcore, grindcore, brutal deathmetal, oldschool death metal, noise, electronic, whatever you name it style of band. This album is, like the one before it (conform -2010- self released on CD) just a snapshot of how we felt at the time.
The recording process has been a lot different as well, we now wrote and recorded everything without the computer for the first time in a lot of years. instead relying on an old tascam cassette recorder. There are no clicktracks or drumtriggers or other stupid conformist stuff on this album. What you will find is 9 no-holds-barred tracks to rock out to.
Support the underground and order our tape (it's only like 5 euro's or something including shipping) everyone is encouraged to leave their (hate)mail and orders at primalorder2010@gmail.com"

Discovering the Underground - Dave Davidson (Revocation)

Revocation should need no introduction to our visitors. Their album Chaos of Forms was one of the most enjoyable riff-fests of last year and we are honored to have Dave Davidson (guitars, vocals) giving us some insight into the stuff he likes! Here we go:

1. Can you give a quick update about what you guys are up to these days?

We are about to embark on a short headlining tour in April followed by a U.S. tour in June with Six Feet under and Dying Fetus. That's all I can disclose for now.

2. Please name a few underground/unknown bands which have impressed you lately.

Vektor: One of my favorite newer underground thrash bands at the moment. They're from Arizona and sound like a mix between Kreator and Voivod with black metal vocals. Sick riffs!
Gigan: Chaotic death metal featuring an ex member of Diabolic. The music is really interesting because it's quite experimental yet still heavy as fuck.
Ramming Speed: Metal, punk and grind all blended together into a frothy concoction of pure headbangibility!

3. Can you name a few recent albums which you think everyone should check out ?

Spawn of Possession - Incurso: One of the most intense death metal records I've heard in a long time. You can always count on SOP to deliver some crazy death metal songs and the ones on this record are fucking brain melting!
Aura Noir - Out To Die: The triumphant return of these blackened thrash masters! I love the guitar tone on this record, it sounds pissed!
Sulaco - Build and Burn: A killer record from front to back. Erik Burke writes some of the quirkiest riffs in the biz. Highly recommended!
Napalm Death - Utilitarian: Napalm Death can do no wrong. Utilitarian is an amazing grind record with a few surprises to keep things interesting. John Zorn's freaked out sax solo on Everyday Pox sounds like a cross between free jazz and grind all in one song. Can't get much more abrasive than that haha...

4. Some old albums which u have been listening to lately?

Voivod - Nothingface: Such an incredible album, the music is so unique. It's awesome to listen to a band that totally has their own sound.
Megadeth - Peace Sells...But Who's Buying: This record never get's old, so many classic songs and awesome solos.
His Hero Is Gone - The Plot Sickens: Great band, great album, wish they were still around.
Martyr - Warp Zone: One of my favorite technical death metal CDs of all time. Warp Zone was and still is a great source of inspiration for me as a musician in general. It's one of those "life changing" albums.

5. Any bands which have impressed you tremendously with their live performances?

Havok are a great live band, they fucking bring it every time. I was also super impressed when I saw Gorod live at the Neurotic Deathfest. They were tight as shit!

6. Do you have any advice for new bands who are keen to make a good name for themselves? How important is playing live shows these days while compared with the need to take a break and compose new material?

You have to work on your craft as a songwriter otherwise no one will want to pay to come see you live in the first place, but once you've gotten some good songs written it's very important to go out and hit the road. The more noise you make the more attention you gather and that's a good first step to getting signed. Labels want to see that you're willing to tour.

7. Any other message for DMI readers? What is your opinion of the DMI site?

Thanks to everyone at DMI! Hope this interview was informative, horns up!!!
