"Vehement Reverie is a death metal band based out of southern Florida, that is proud to continue in the revered tradition of Florida Death metal. The project began springing from the idea that it would be cool to combine elements of contrapuntal composition commonly seen in classical and baroque pieces with extreme metal. This is best illustrated on the tracks 'Dessylyn' and 'Floral Excruciation' though all the songs have these elements to some degree. Add in some breakdowns and thrashy rhythms and you have some of the key elements of Vehement Reverie.
Enlisted as a hired gun for this first release is Jason Laufgas, a great guitarist whose frequent use of pinch harmonics calls to mind Dimebag Darrell. His playing breathes life into the melodies written by Joseph. Joseph's own bass-playing also provides a defining element of the sound. His reliance on melodic phrasing rather than high-speed picking is a breath of fresh air. Additionally, Allocca's lengthy shrieks really add a dimension of unbridled fury to the music. The drumming is computer-generated, but still solid regardless, only sparingly making use of blastbeats which the band believes to be overused in the genre."
